Cincinnati is the first to offer WR Javien Brownlee

Clayton, Ohio Northmont is constantly producing new Division I recruits and the next one is 2023 wide receiver Javien Brownlee, who took advantage of this camp season to keep getting on the college radar for an offer from Cincinnati.

It was a big moment for the 5 foot 10, 170 pound Brownlee after what he struggled through.

“Getting the first offer was very exciting for me,” he said. “Last year was my sophomore year in college and really wanted to get my name out there but had a broken finger in week three that needed surgery. Thankfully, I got back to Marysville in week eight before Covid ended . ” our season. When the camp season came, I was excited to show my talent and get an offer. I was really good at Bowling Green Camp and good at Purdue Camp but with no offers. It was a bit daunting because I saw some other guys on Twitter getting them, so I knew I had to go harder. After visiting and camp at UC, I was very excited to receive an offer and finally get a school that pulls the trigger and believes in me. “

A native of Ohio, Brownlee is aware of the success of the Bearcats under head coach Luke Fickell, but needs to learn more about them beyond that.

“I don’t know UC that well other than what I saw on TV,” he said. “I know that they really improve as a program with Coach Fickell and other staff. Since I’m in the 2023 class, I haven’t got a chance to build a great relationship with any of the coaches, but the visit and camp has really made me feel good Loved it and enjoyed the school very much. Coach Mike Brown was very helpful and always gave me tips on how to improve my running track and things like that at camp. “

From there, Brownlee went to Illinois and had another good performance.

“I’ve had good feedback from the Illinois camp,” he said. “I had a good day too. It was my first time meeting Coach McDonald and after the camp he got my information and wanted to contact me if they can and continue the good work. I was in touch with.” Coach Miller, but he wasn’t there at the time, so I didn’t meet him, but it was a good camp all in all. “

Next up is for Brownlee on Ohio State 22nd, then on April 25-27. NextGen’s The Show at IMG. He has also received interest from Notre Dame.
