Ohio will play against Michigan on Sunday, who defeated Hawaii 2-1 in the other semifinals.

In this tournament affected by COVID-19, Ohio was one of four American teams – and no international clubs due to travel restrictions – to play in the semifinals on Saturday.

How They Got Here: Ohio started the tournament with a nerve-wracking win over Tennessee in extra innings, then was blown 9-0 by California in the second round.

While many teams lost motivation after a demoralizing defeat, Ohio rose to the challenge.

After defeating Louisiana and New Hampshire in the losers’ round, the club defeated California 4-2 in a rematch and advanced to the semifinals.

Ohio aims to become the first team in the state to win the LLWS.
