Cincinnati, Ohio – – A bonobo at an Ohio zoo loved to play with her granddaughter and it was all captured in an adorable video.
The video of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens shows the primate named Lana playing with her granddaughter Amali to the delight of zoo visitors.
Little Amali, who is 8 months old, could be seen smiling and laughing when Lana showered her with kisses.

According to animal keepers, Lana turned 40 in 2020, making her the oldest woman in the zoo’s bonobo troop. She is the mother of Kesi, one of Amali’s parents.
According to the zoo, bonobos are also called dwarf chimpanzees and are slightly smaller than the common chimpanzees.

The bonobo is the closest living human and shares more than 98% of its DNA.
“Bonobos live like humans in family groups and are highly intelligent. They often stand upright on two legs like us,” says the zoo. “Bonobos are able to make and use tools, a quality that once set humans apart from other animals.”
